The infant looked snug as a bug as she slumbered peacefully, clad in a grey long-sleeved top and matching leggings.


It's clear the star was overflowing with love as she provided an elaborate caption with the heartwarming snapshot.

Police Arrested 63 'Black Axe' Cultists

At least 63 members of a cultist group "Black Axe" were arrested by the Akwa Ibom Police Command at Effoi village forest, near Eket, 15 June.

The information about the massive arrest was made available to the newsmen by DSP Etim Dickson, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Uyo. All of the detainees confessed to being the members of the Neo-Black Movement in Nigeria.

Three cars, one bus, two motorcycles, ten cell phones, two locally-made pistols, five live cartridges, two axes, two drums, five black berets with ‘Aye’ insignia, and a container containing a substance suspected to be blood were recovered from them.

“All the suspects will be charged to court. You know the activity of cult group is becoming too rampant,” Dickson said.

He also urged all the citizens be alert to suspicious activity in their neighbourhood and report about any suspicious characters or items to the police for swift actions.

In recent times there has been a shocking rise in cult activity in Nigeria:

Suspected cultists killed a 35-year-old man on June 14, dumped his body on the Olopo Meji, Oworonshoki Expressway in Lagos leaving the body to be crushed many times by on-coming vehicles.

Some suspected cult members went on rampage on June 2, killing no fewer than 15 people in Owerri, the Imo State capital in broad daylight.

On May 25, more than 20 female students of Benue State University, Makurdi, were robbed and raped by suspected cult members who invaded their hostel.

Also, sometime in May, four secondary school students were arrested by the police in Ondo over their alleged involvement in Cultism.

Fashola Visits Dora Akunyili's Family, Expresses His Сondolences

The Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola paid a condolence visit to the family of late Professor Dora Akunyili’s family at their Maitama, Abuja residence on Thursday, June 12, 2014.

Dora Akunyili died of uterine cancer on June 7, 2014 at the age of 59. Despite the illness, she was actively participating in the work of the ongoing National Conference.

Earlier President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice-President Namadi Sambo and the ministers dedicated the entire Federal Executive Council (FEC) session to paying tribute to the former Minister of Information and Communication, Professor Dora Akunyili.



According to the family sources, Former Dora Akunyili, whose remains arrived Nigeria, on June 11, 2014, from Mumbai will be buried on August 28, 2014. The funeral arrangements will be made available to the public in due course.

Kenya attacks 'not terrorism' claims president as tourism fears rise grow

Uhuru Kenyatta disregards al-Shabaab claims it carried out twin strikes that left 60 dead and instead blames “local political networks”

Back-to-back attacks close to Kenya’s coast that killed 60 people over two days were the work of local political activists and not international terrorists, Kenya’s president has said.

In a live televised statement, Uhuru Kenyatta ignored claims from Somalia’s al-Qaeda army that it was behind the raids and instead attempted to shore up his political standing by blaming opposing politicians.

“Local political networks” had arranged the “ethnic violence” to force people from Mr Kenyatta’s Kikuyu tribe from the town that was targeted, Mpeketoni near Lamu. He named no one and gave no details of investigations against anyone.

There was immediate disbelief and outrage at the president’s statement in Lamu, the string of islands popular with international tourists that lie to the east of Mpeketoni.

 He is crazy, he is trying to turn all Kenya against him and his Kikuyus. This is like 2007,” said Hassan Ahmed Ali, a retired bank worker watching Mr Kenyatta’s speech in Lamu. He referred to the intertribal violence that swept Kenya following the 2007 elections.

Boko Haram: Britain pledges more support to help bring back schoolgirls

"It will include helping to train units employed on counter insurgence operations against Boko Haram in north-east Nigeria."
He added that the British Government will also be providing further assistance to Nigeria's regional security and intelligence cooperation.
The decision was announced after Mr Hague met with ministers from Nigeria, Chad, Benin, Niger and Cameroon on the penultimate day of the summit he is co-hosting with Angelina Jolie.
He said: "To ensure that we deal more effectively with Boko Haram and with incidents of this kind we've reached a series of important agreements today."
The African countries have agreed to work together to come up with comprehensive information about the Islamist insurgents, as well as run task force regional patrols.
All five countries also committed to improving development, girls' education and gender issues in their own countries, which are underlying causes of conflict in the region.

At a press conference organized by the National Information Centre, Abuja yesterday, the Police Force spokesperson, Frank Mba advised that until those behind the incident is determined, no one can draw up any conclusion

"The media and the citizens should not be in a hurry to link the Owerri incident to established terror cell until the full identity of those behind it are known to security forces. Until the motives are established, I think it will be pre-emptive for us to give it the toga of terrorism. It could be anything, for us in the security world, we live all options open, we are ready to test all hypothesis.’’ he said

According to new reports, Boko Haram men have written to residents of Chibok community saying they should expect them again..soon! A senior official of Chibok LGA who spoke anonymously with Punch said the people in the community are now in great fear after they received the threat

"Everyone in the LGA believes that the sect cannot be pocketed by security men. The letter has further worsened their fear. Whenever Boko Haram tells you that they are coming, they will never fail to do so. Our fear now is that, we don’t know when and how they are going to come but our people are in great fear. We are calling for prayers as well as on government to provide adequate security in Chibok" he said

The LG official said they have notified the security agents in the area about the letter but still live in great fear as they are not certain to get any adequate help from the security officials.

Corn coleslaw salad with peanut 
Recipe for six servings:
• 3 cans sweet corn or fresh corn (cooked)
• 1 bunch of cabbage (shredded)
• 5 carrots (peeled and grilled)
• 3 tablespoons of lemon juice
• 3 apples (cored and chopped)
• 1 cup raisin
• 4 tablespoons of peanut butter
• ½ pint sourced cream
• Salt and pepper to taste
Method
   Drain the corn and reserve the juice. Mix the corn with cabbage, carrots apples and raising in a large bowl. For the dressing, Pour the canned juice into a bowl, add the peanut butter, cream, lemon juice and seasoning to taste. Mix thoroughly and cook for two minutes. Pour over the coleslaw mixture, toss to coat and allow to cool. Serve the coleslaw garnished with lettuce.

Jessica Simpson and her sister Ashlee are reportedly working together to create the perfect ambience for their upcoming nuptials.

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson’s weddings will reportedly be “very different”.

The Hollywood sisters are gearing up to to the knot with their respective fiancés this summer, as Jessica is betrothed to NFL player Eric Johnson and Ashlee is set to wed The Hunger Games actor Evan Ross.

Although the siblings have purportedly been working together on their individual weddings, it is claimed the two nuptial ceremonies will look nothing alike.

"Jessica and Ashlee are very close and really supportive with each other, especially since both weddings are coming up," a source told E! News.

"They have been doing lots of wedding stuff together. During this wedding process they both have been talking to each other about their ideas, even though they both are having very different weddings."

Apparently Ashlee is going for a “Bohemian-style vibe”, while Jessica is aiming to put on a more “classic and modern” affair.

It is believed Jessica and Eric will wed over July 4th weekend.

Ashlee and Evan are said to be tying the knot closer to the end of summer, on August 31.

Both Simpson sisters have been married before.

Jessica ended her four-year union with 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey in 2006.

It will also be the second marriage for Ashlee, who wedded Fall Out Boy musician Pete Wentz in 2008.

They welcomed son Bronx the same year, but their divorce was finalized in 2011.
